What did I hear at Drakensville?
Stephan Vosloo
Step up to the plate …. and fly with me.
At the camp last year, the feeling was that the Lord said, “Step up to the plate”. This year it was as if we had taken up positions “at the plate” and he said, “Now run with me”; or rather, “fly with me” if we can use Cicely’s metaphor of the flying geese. Geese in flying formation can fly seventy one percent further than any other flock of birds because they use each other’s slip stream. The leader takes the brunt of the wind resistance and the others enjoy a progressive rest in the wake of the one ahead of him. The leader stays in front for only a couple of minutes and then goes right to the back to rest. They need such a system because they are going somewhere. They are on a journey.
They have a destination, and an ability to reach it that is programmed into them as part of their DNA.

The Current move of God - 8 characteristics
Frank Viola
I'm looking forward to 2009. I believe it's going to be an important year for the church of Jesus Christ.
In August, I was privileged to be one of the speakers at a conference for Christians who gather outside the institutional church. Some of the other speakers were Tony & Felicity Dale, Paul Young, Wolfgang Simpson, John White, and Jon Zens.
In one of the leadership sessions, I gave a very short talk in which I stated that I'm not someone who goes around saying that there's a new move of God happening in our day. In fact, for the last two years I've heard many others say this, but I've suspended judgment. I then announced that I'm now forced to say that I am convinced that we are in the beginnings of a new move of God.

The battle for identity
Johan Boot
I believe that the core temptation and subsequent damage done to man through the deception and work of the devil is the destruction of his identity.
For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God… (Gen 3:5)
Satan deceived Adam into exchanging his identity as a son of God for an alternative identity: to be like God. So what is it that God had that Adam did not have?

A Promise
We have a promise from the Lord that I believe has not yet been fulfilled. A promise that he has repeated various times in the past which I believe is soon to come to pass. The promise is: "But [the time is coming when] the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." [Hab 2:14] (Amplified Bible) "... for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. And it shall be in that day that the Root of Jesse shall stand as a signal for the peoples; of Him shall the nations inquire and seek knowledge, and His dwelling shall be glory [His rest glorious]". [Isa 11:9,10] (Amplified Bible) "But truly as I live and as all the earth shall be filled with my glory ..." [Num 14:21] (Amplified Bible)
The Hebrew translation of glory as used in the verses above is kabod, which literally translated means "weight". I believe that God is soon to manifest a measure of His Presence in the earth that is thus far not been seen or experienced. His Presence will descend upon the earth like a "weight" that will be experienced world wide.

Visions regarding the coming season
and the Kingdom of God - Johan Boot
The invisible army
I saw Jesus as King on a horse, leading an army into battle. This army was the sons of the Kingdom – those who did not love their lives even unto death. Issues regarding Christ’s identity, Christ’s purpose and Christ’s mission have been worked out and rooted in their lives.

The Simple Path
Received by Johan Boot January 2003
Luke 9:23 If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
The Call
Look I stand at the gate. Narrow is this gate and difficult its path. Yet it leads to life. I am this gate. I am also this path. Likewise I am the life thereof.Take My burden and yoke upon you, for I will give you rest. My yoke and burden is this path of life. Here you will find rest for your soul.
This simple way is the way of My Father. It is only revealed to the humble and weak, the rejected and despised. You cannot understand this way of life and follow by it, unless you become like a little child.

Prophetic impressions from the
Mighty Men Conference
Stephan Vosloo
I had a spiritual experience about 15 years ago in which I saw the land of Israel as if I was looking at it from God's perspective. I saw Jerusalem as a focal point with hundreds of paths leading to it. It was just before Passover and all across Israel thousands of people were travelling to celebrate the feast at Jerusalem. It was as if I was feeling God's pleasure at seeing His people gathering unto Him and hearing the Songs of Ascent they were singing.

The escalating trend of sexual entrapment and the need for purity

Some statistics
In a recent article entitled What Porn Does To Men, London's Guardian newspaper made the statement that “we are living in a sex crazed society”. While this is not unique to the times we are living in (it has been with us since the dawn of humanity), it is true that with technological advances such as the internet, cell phones and ipods we are facing an exponential upward curve in especially the preponderance of pornography.
Statistics given by the Internet Filter Review are very alarming:
· The USA produces a new so-called adult movie every 39 minutes – an increase of 945% over the last 20 years.
· Every second 28,258 people view a porn site on the internet.

The journey of love
Johan Boot
You are primarily where you are because of your longing for more of Him. He used to still this longing by visiting you through His presence and power, and sometimes revival. Yet, you were not satisfied with this. You desired more. You desired more of Him. You wanted to know Him personally. Yet for Him to still this longing in your heart, He could no longer do what He used to do. For in the past He used to visit you wherever you were on your journey because of your prayers and desire. But at a certain stage, in order for you to go deeper (get closer) in Him, you had to begin to follow Him to the place where He resides. He wanted to take you home to be with Him. This triggered your journey.

Musings on Ireland and the
effect it had on my life.
Stephan
I spent the last week trying to recover physically and to wring every drop of revelation and meaning out of my trip to Ireland. What can we learn from the people in Ireland and their experience of the last thirty years that will affect our lifestyle? More importantly, what is Jesus saying to us in our current situation?
One thing is certain; He said things to them and to the people in Australia and the community in New Zealand that catapulted them on a journey that has lasted thirty years and that we can learn from after six years on the same track. I don’t want to make the same mistakes they made. I want to learn from them, but not follow a recipe.

The “unselfing” of us
By Johan du Toit
If I had to distill my own journey with God as I am currently experiencing it as well as my observation of that which other believers close to me are experiencing at the moment, into one phrase, it will be this: “He is unselfing us.” Read further:

Pondering obedience
(aka I wanna be a horse.)
By Hagan and Lynie Nash
“Our Lord never insists on having authority over us. He never says, “You will submit to me.” No He leaves us perfectly free to choose... But once His life has been created in me through His redemption, I instantly recognise His right to absolute authority over me.” (from the 19th July, My Utmost for His Highest, Oswald Chambers)
I have been thinking about my own obedience to God in the context of friendship with Him and thinking about what Oswald Chambers wrote. Do I really get it?

Dealing with burn-out
From Viv's journal.
By Vivian Anderson
THIS YEAR HAS BEEN A LONG, AND
RATHER EMBARRASSING STRUGGLE
FOR ME. I was diagnosed with Burn out in
June...I was put on anti depressants, and I
needed to take time out from the ministry I
live for - because the way I was doing it was
killing me! Burn out is something no one will
ever understand completely until you go
through it. It is much worse than anyone could
imagine, or those suffering it will ever let on.

The fear of the Lord.
By Helen Gardiner
We live in a time when many prophetic people are saying how desperately there is a need for the Church to have a heart revelation of the fear of the Lord. There is a despair, when one sees so many so-called Christians living in such flagrant sin…
And I am in agreement that the fear of the Lord needs to be restored to the Church.
However, I have noted a danger here: that we can pursue the fear of the Lord, as being something of an ultimate goal.

The generosity of God

On being used by God – spot the difference
By Stephan Vosloo
Someone sent me this excerpt the other day. On the surface there is nothing wrong with what is written here but for all of us who are really desiring that God may use us this can cause condemnation and I for one has had enough guilt feelings about the fact that I am not being used as I see He uses others. See if you can spot the difference.

I have been with you so long…..
Stephan Vosloo
I sometimes feel the pain of Jesus when He is ignored and rejected through my ignorance. When I have gone through an hour without acknowledging His presence, I sometimes cry out in experiencing His desire to be with me. It still blows my mind to realise that I can ignore the intimate presence of the Creator of the world and go on my merry way for an hour or a morning or if I am very busy for longer.
I am appalled that I can actually live without the manifest presence of His love for that long anymore. When I have had my early morning dose of being with Him, I can not contemplate that somewhere in the day I will lose the sense of safety and love but I do. The reason for that is that I am still looking for other things to comfort me.
